Frozen Parts of the 9 realms

I might theme a Khorne force around a warband who are either based or live somewhere, or simply raid a lot in a frozen area, but where in the 9 realms would that be?

Any of them, except Azyr. The realms are each larger than the old warhammer world. We don't know of any specific frozen areas, but you could just invent some. The flash-frozen wastes of Aqshy, the eternal pine forests of the realm of life, or maybe the winter desert of Shyish? Maybe the shifting copper snows of Chamon suits you better, or perhaps the eternal twilight of the midnight sun in the realm of shadow?

My own army is based in a vaguely northern european climate, with plenty of snow and pine trees within the realm of death.

Got it, the only limit is my imagination.

Yup. Maybe a bit of a fake-out, but that's what we are stuck with until GW writes something about a cold place

If you're looking for an officially fluffed part of the mortal realms look no further than the Silverglades in the realm of Chamon

Here is the event pack from GW's 'ice magic' narrative event at WHW that was based there, the is even a special warscroll for an ice Mage if you wanted to use that.

Cool. Thanks for that. Is it interesting that they've removed the 'must be painted' stipulation for playing campaings at Warhammer World now?

I think that bit has been gone for a little while as it was a bit of a barrier for some players

So, essentially you're recreating the Norse from the Old World?

Well, I think old J. Reynolds mentioned a place in Ghur called "the Ice-Kingdoms of Gjoll" where Chaos-aligned Norse inspired humans come from in his ask.fm page. In fact I think there are two characters from his Black Rift of Klaxus thing who are from Gjoll. Their names being "Hroth" and "Volundr" or something like that.

No, not as such. I want a Khornate warband with say, armour so cold its a metallic black and frostbitten blue skin, a real sort of wintery Cradle of Filth thing going on. Sounds interesting though! Any idea where more of this stuff might be mentioned?
