    Araloth and the Haven

With the return of the elves in the latest AoS army book, has there been any kind of update on how Araloth fared after the End Times?
Standards are always out of date. That's what makes them standards.

Well why it doesn’t necasarrily conclusive. But Araloths model has now become a generic Wanderer Lord.

But then again he would likely be dead at this point (Unless he went God)

Hard to tell. Maybe GW will keep it as an excuse to bring back bretts in some form later down the line.

Believe it is mentioned in End times: Archaon that Lilieth has a vision of it being destroyed and she sort of gives up then sacrifices herself to allow Teclis to transport the incarnates and all the remaining elves/ Brett's/ dwarves to middenheim to fight the big A

I have ET: Archaon. All it says is that Lileath can no longer sense the Haven or its inhabitants. She assumes it's been discovered, but it's never confirmed.

I've said this elsewhere, but by this point in the story Lileath has lost her powers, Chaos has torn the weave to fibers, and the only daemon that knows of the Haven's existence has been imprisoned so he can't slip back to the warp and share his discovery.

And as I recall, the Brets left before Teclis cast his spell.

sorry was just going from memory as it didn't have the book in front of me.

I still assume he has died in the age of chaos like most things

I haven't read the End Times book, but from what I've beem told Araloth sees his own face behind Asuryan's mask.

    I interpreted that as:
    • Haven is just the World-that-was thousands of year in the past.
    • Araloth and his daughter travel back in time and become Asuryan and Lileath.
    • Lileath believes it's a cycle when its actually a time paradox.

That is a very interesting theory, it never occurred me and I guess it makes perfect sense story-wise... Although it does not really explain the presence of Grail Knights to defend the Haven, as there were no men in the early days of the Old World when Asuryan and the rest of the gods walked amongst mortals...

My assumption would be that the Haven is still somewhere in AoS universe and that elves might have survived there... I am saying this based on the apparence of the new aelf mistweaver in the Silver Tower box. If that is indeed the first Aelf we see from AoS, then I would say that the connection with the mist is, or might be, a reference to Lileath AKA Ladrielle, Lady of the Mists. We already have the Tenebrael Shard being all "dark elf"-like and possibly coming from Ulgu, the realm of shadows, while we do not have any reference to where these new mist-aelves might come from and they don't seem to fit particularly well in any Mortal Realm (not Fire, nor Light, not Life, not Death, certaily not Beasts, not Metal, maybe Shadows but we already have the Tenebrael comng from there), so I would say they are the descendent of Araloth and Lileath daughter infused with the maternal power over mists and misteries.

That of course is just my idea...

I don't agree, but it is an interesting theory.

I took it that the Haven was some sort of pocket dimension.

I think the mistweaver is mentioned to come from Ulgu in the Silver Tower book. I'm at work so don't have it on me but I'll try to double check the part with her fluff in the back of the main book when I get home. Pretty sure it said she was from Ulgu.

Edit: just read in the Mistweaver thread that she is indeed from Ulgu.

You are right Vida, I checked yesterday... I have to say, I am kind of disappointed, it all started to make sense in my mind!

I guess I probably need to accept that GW is not going to do anything with the potentially great plot of Lileath's Haven... Too bad, it was a really interesting bit of story and, to me at least, sounded like it had huge potential for a future and original take on the Aelves... I was imagining these magical creatures living in an Eden-like garden besieged by Chaos and protected by the souls of the greatest human knights of the World-that-Was, striking back for the first time in millennias to fight along with Sigmar's hosts... How cool would that be?! BUT... maybe... GW is going to surprise me with an even better idea and fluff for them.

All I hope is that they will do something good and original with my favourite fantasy race, and this new Mistweaver got me intrigued...

Im pretty sure Be'Lakor will come out of his prison pretty soon and into the AoS setting.

I'm pretty sure there's a forum for AoS stuff now.
