Most common chaos worshippers: Khorne, slaanesh, nurgle, tzeentch or undivided?

Just saw a lore video on youtube stating that worshippers of chaos undivided were the least common in the fantasy setting.

Is that really true? I have always thought, that chaos undivided were the most common, seeing as the majority of the traitor legions in 40k are chaos undivided.

    Anyone?

Chaos undivided has always seems oxymoron to me. its almost like saying desorganized Order :s
With no proff, I can only hope that the chaos followers are as chaotic as their name and each of them chooses one chaos god over the others, and wage war between them.
Most of the fluff I have read appears to point toward chaos gods fighting as much between themself as with other armies, which would only make sense if there where more followers for individual gods than for them undivided.

It depends on what era of Warhammer?

With the Old World, most tribes worshiped many gods depending upon the articular need (so nurgle to make sure their child recovers from sickness, Khorne for victory over a local tribe in battle or plentiful hunting etc). So by definition, I suppose they worshiped 'Chaos Undivided'.

There were tribes dedicated to a single god (usually Khorne or Nurgle because of the more obvious advantages they give in the Northern Wastes) but they weren't the standard.

Norscan tribes would usually dedicate themselves to a particular god depending on which god was the patron of their chieftain. Most tribes worshiped the gods in a pantheon (which would sometimes include various spirits, daemons, ancestors, heroes, and twisted reflections of certain Old World gods like Mermedus), but tribes dedicated to a single deity were not uncommon. Khornate worship, additionally, is very, very, very common amongst the warriors of any Norse tribe, since they're a warrior-race.

Well End Times primarily pitted Khorne vs Naggaroth (victory), Slaanesh vs Ulthuan (defeat), Nurgle vs Old World (stalemate), and Tzeentch vs Cathay (victory). Hashut fell to Orcs (defeat) and the Horned Rat was pretty involved in the southern hemisphere (epic win).

The only distinctive undivided forces were Archaon and the Beastmen, and Archaon had a Khorne bias.

There wasn't really a "Chaos Undivided".

Most of Chaos forces are aligned to one of the gods, or unaligned (as opposed to a "one nation, under chaos").
Beastmen did what they did because they were animals, born humanoid because of Chaos.
Archaeon served himself. He wanted to destroy the Empire by his own means and it was something the other gods were united behind. Don't suck the world into a black hole, and after Archaeon wins the gods probably raise their own champions to kill him too.

That happen in Age of Sigmar where Archeron want a world with not kings or gods, just him and is semi-god now, he is too usefull for CG but they cant let him go ether so they throw **** at him over and over

So is the way of chaos

I've always thought of undivided as the crafty followers, trying to curry favour with ALL the gods until one bestows their gifts.....

Re: Most common chaos worshippers: Khorne, slaanesh, nurgle, tzeentch or undivided?

Depending on edition & what lore you read it shifts, undivided followers was a really rare thing back in the day, you dedicated yourself to one god to win favor, not all & not gain much at all, it was high risk, high reward, low risk, low reward. For example in 4th edition undivided didn´t even exist, in 3:rd there were more gods, but no undivided, it didn´t really appear until 5:th edition which also introduced us to Archaon..
Khorne has always been the strongest & still was in 8:th edition.

You could be a champion of chaos undivided in the old realm of chaos books , the idea there was that you worshipped them all equally , so when you became a demon prince you would have dominion over yourself.... Course it was a much riskier prospect

Liber Chaotica: Tzeentch suggests that Slannesh has the most worshippers in the civilised realms for fairly obvious reasons, with Tzeentch tending to have the fewest, but more potent acolytes.
