As fluff on the humans in the realms is rather scare I wondered what ideas people had about them?

I like the little snippets about humans trying to recreate the countries of the Old World. It allows you to mix and match a bit as parts of 'history' passed on are mis-remembered or twisted by going through so many generations via word of mouth.

I thought they were mostly wiped out...a few scattered people eking out what can barely be called a life. At least thats the impression I got from the early AoS fluff I read. I thought any real sense of human culture etc only survived in Sigmar's gaff till he started booting them out the door to reclaim the worlds.
See that's one of the things I don't like ,the old world was destroyed 10 thousand ( my numbers could be off here but it was a very long time ago) and about 5 people survived ... people who are now gods or near enough. Any deliberate recreation of old world cultures (or altempts to do so) are just silly imo ..... course there could be all kinds of coincidental recreations of old world cultures
A petty difference ? Yes . But I feel an important one
A question: So far it seems GW has decided to stick to their German Renaissance look for the Freeguild armies, going so far as to inlude their iconic feather hats and wide cut breeches and sleeves.
The look of the Empire seems to live on, even if it's because it's cheaper than to remake their whole "main human" plastic line, one that has models not even 5 years old.
But... for how long? Do you think GW will release more Empire-like miniatures, or just Stormcasts? Do you think they'll go for a new good barbarian army of Order? Or maybe they'll try and fuse the old Empire style with the new Stormcast look?
