The wallpaper and tiling is just a step above. Makes everything really pop. Well done.
Next you'll be making tiny furniture using functional 28mm scale hand tools that you blacksmith'd up yourself. Show off.

Damn, you have been busy! Really great stuff Codsticker. All the little extra details like the wallpaper and the wood flooring really add that extra special touch to the layout. I'm looking forward to seeing the end result.
Thank you DC147.![]()

All the interiors are done except most of the flooring. This building gives you an indea what they all basically look like:
Less than a week ago the table was at this stage:
Exposed paving stones and cracks in the concrete give it some texture...
Then a bit of tedious painting... too much work for the end result IMO:
The Renedra Ramshackle Barn is finished and ready to be based:
The unfinished board got a run out this weekend as David play-tested a scenario:
Next up is the "rural" side of the canal and finishing the base of the barn: more dirt, grass and less concrete.

I have the "dirt" foundation on the rural side of the table; Sculptamold mixed with a bit of water and dark brown paint:
The Plas Craft Games Stone Wall textured sheet that lines the canal walls has also been painted:
The rural side still needs flocking and some shrubs but that will be the last touches to the board; starting tomorrow I will be continuing on with the buildings. Painting an weathering the exterior, the stairs, awnings and putting the rest of the wooden flooring in.

Three more buildings done; one city block. The close pictures show the shortcomings of the MDF kits- no detail, the tabs that allow them to fit together snugly are obvious. On the table though and playing a game they are perfectly fine.
The bases will be finished properly once all the buildings are completely painted- just two more!

Thank you -BoBo-; that is a real compliment coming from such an accomplished artist.
Almost done this second table; all the MDF structures are finished being painted, just their bases and a few details to add to them. Unfortunately those details are still in the post

That is not a bad idea.... As I have a deadline of Mar. 16th and one more table to build that is the sort of thing that I would like to try if time allows. It would certainly be fun.

Yes, they would look great, but I already have some in different style.

Thank you Little Joe
The Italeri bridge is finished getting painted and the Renedra Ramshackle Barn with Renedra's 5 rail fencing is all based up.

The next step is to flock and detail the ground on rural side of the canal. I have to do something with the gravel road too- make it more... gravel-y....

Thank you -BoBo-. The bridge was primed grey, then using a sponge, I dabbed on two other colours: Americana Craft paint pebble (similar to Zandri Dust) and Ceramacoat Charcoal (similar to Skavenblight). Then i gave the whole bridge a heavy drybrush with a grey medium/dark grey such Eishin or Dawnstone I then took a few grey shades, a dark brown like Dryad Bark, and a lighter colour like the aforementioned Pebble/Zandri ,thinned them with a glazing medium and picked out indivdual stones. By thinning with the glazing medium you allow the dabbing to come through the main colour, creating different tones on the same stone. You don't have to pick out every one; I concentrated on the ones that weren't dark enough from from the drybrushing. I followed that with a pin wash in those areas of the mortar which had been filled in with a thinned Americana Shale Green (similar to Ogryn Camo or Pallid Whych flesh). After that some vertical streaks of dark wash. It sounds like a lot of work but I think I did it in a couple of hours while watching a rugby or hockey game.

Seeing as I have everything in my possession specifically bought for this table painted I thought I would indulge myself and take a bunch of photos as it currently stands.
I have several things still wending their way to me in the post: manhole covers, fire hydrants, trash cans, pallets, railroad tracks. If they get here on time they will get on the table.
