    Berserk's Medieval Castle Log.

    Hi guys,

I'd like to share my current project with all of you. It is a Medieval Castle for 28-35mm scale ideally. For the whole thing I am using XPS (extruded styrofoam), polystyrene, white foam board and balsa wood sticks.

It is work in progress which I've started video recording some time after I kicked off with this project so first few steps are missing (I am trying my best to somehow backtrack most of the steps).

I also do not have to many pictures from before when I started with the video recording but I do have few decent quality tutorials uploaded on YouTube already.

Please be mindful that I am a fresh starter on a YouTube my adventure with video tutorials just started so that my skills on this are not the greatest as of yet

With your criticism I hope I will improve in time as well.

The way how I will guide you through the process of building is rather simple. I will post a short description of video content next to the video link so that you know what to expect (CB, I hope you'll like it mate )

    Part1: Introduction.
Brief explanation of what tools and materials I am using for this project. Also contains initial progress of the castle itself.

Part2&3: How to make a wooden floor.
This is 2 videos of making a wooden floor out of the wooden sticks, I am explaining how to prep the bits and pieces. Going through few different shapes of floor, like single square shape and irregular shape for pavements, towers or other rooms.

Part4: How to make a walls and the towers.
This video is a backtrack of how I've built existing walls/towers (before I started video recording). Explaining how to work with XPS and also adding simple battle damages.

Part5: Finishing touches to the walls and the towers.
Here I am explaining how to easy finish up the top of the towers and walls to cover styrofoam and also add nice stone pattern to the whole thing.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MK5...PW1QTjDHuyC6fZ

Part6: Building a main gate for the castle.
This one is about making a simple wooden gate as a centre piece for the front of the castle. Creating a template and working with wooden sticks. Simple and effective.

This is what I got so far guys. I hope you like it. If you do, leave me some comments on my YT(also like, subscribe and share) channel or just drop them here. Any criticism is a constructive one in my opinion so, please let me know what you think. I am working full-time so my hobby time is a limited one, but I am uploading stuff weekly. I will also update this log for you guys shortly after YT's so stick around

Question for mods, should I reply to this post with the continuation as I am only allowed to add 10 files into 1 post.

    Re: Berserk's Medieval Castle Log.

OMG - such a great piece you are creating. Really nice details. I know once painted it will really bring the stone to life. I did a similar large castle project as my board centerpiece that came out really well, but yours looks to blow mine away! The one thing I did for mine was make all the components sectional so the pieces could be taken apart, not only for storage, but so I could use the gatehouse, tower, main hall, etc. as separate pieces if I wanted.

I really look forward to seeing this progress!

Part11: How to paint and decorate your terrain project. (edit. 17.07.2018)
In this video I am focusing around painting a seal terrain piece. I am using dry-brushing technique which is the best one for painting a terrain. I am also decorating painted ruins with flock and summer undergrowth (army painter stuff, absolutely lovely bits of little bushes kind of thing... As always below you will find a link to YouTube video tutorial, I hope you'll like it
