    Thanks Codsticker,

Now starting the third original game tower replacement. Anyone looking for the old carboard pieces I am replacing? They are in pretty good shape for the most part.

The long painting and converting war continues...

PS: Seems I missed uploading some photos of the construction and parts.

So, one challenge was that I could not add details to the base tower because you have to slide the first floor over it. So a basecoat was applied to the various parts before gluing the platforms to the tower.

Used some scraps from an earlier project to fill in the gaps between the end of the bulkhead and the central tower on the second floor.

Starting to add detail to the tower.

Really nice CB- I think it is looking to be even better than your last platform.

    Re: Captain Brown Builds Terrain

    Thank you Codsticker,

    Learning as I go.

Got some more uploaded photos to post.

Vent at the top of the tower and the cage for the ladder.

    More details added.

Pipes, vents, and even some valve controls. You can see where I use sprue frames to strengthen the 0.4 mm polystyrene card used for the floors.

The ladder was a Mantic one (and the only one passed on to me) so a one off...which ironically is mostly covered by the safety cage.

Now I have to weather this structure and do the base. It was a big mistake to not have painted, or at least primed and base coated the base.

    Thanks SDKFZ,

    More pipes and valves.

    Filters made of mosquito mesh.

Some parts are so dark, can you even see the riveted plates?

    Weathering.

Added some old wiring, crumpled up imperial posts, and other detritus in the corners...hard to see in the dark recesses.

Many of the rust stains follow the outline of the platform above.

    Re: Captain Brown Builds Terrain

    Thank you gentlemen,

So I played around with the three towers and some of the walkways.

So this has convinced me I have to make some longer walkways.

    Re: Captain Brown Builds Terrain

    Thank you Garanaul the Black,

First longer bridge will be the "Dreaded L Bridge" from the original box...so called because of it's shape and length and exposure to incoming fire to any figures who had to use it.

Using some aquarium gravel supports (three) and some sprinkler extenders for the support coloums.

    First mockup.

The ends fit perfectly under the floors of the Necromunda towers, a little lower for the 40K ruins.

The plastic on the aquarium pieces is quite soft and it did not seem to melt a bond with the sprinkler plastic...so I think it will have to be epoxy as only that will handle the flex of the piece.

Nice, I had ordered some of those gravel supports a while back but wasn't sure how to set them up, the sprinkler parts look good

    Re: Captain Brown Builds Terrain

Thank you Garanaul the Black and Codsticker,

    L Bridge is done.

Only issue is that it will not reach the lower platform of the square tower due to the square base of the tower and the pillars of the L Bridge. So I might trim down the corners of the base on the square tower.

And another bridge, this one being made from Chip board and knitting grate (Granny Grating).

Underside, going to add some supports.

I've used the granny grating before CB- it works out well.

    Re: Captain Brown Builds Terrain

    Good to know Codsticker.

So I started the second one as well to try out some railings using gardening wire (extras left over from doing the bottom edge of the front deck to keep out racoons).

Painted and the railings straightened some more.

Together with my first crack without railings.

The railings really make it look more real though the safety factor is worse since they probably haven't had an integrity inspection.
