Some more of the Squats that I have sculpted have just gone up on Kickstarter (I get nothing from the sale or promotion of these)... so if you want to get hold of them, they can be found here:

@ Colonel Jacka - I've no idea what's going on with the Kickstarters. I know he's got all of the sculpts and I've got casts of them (so there are masters available to him). Maybe he's just releasing these things in manageable chunks (for himself)? He's a one man band, after all. There are things I would do differently, especially in the shop... but I'm not about to tell him his own business!
I'm currently painting... CHAOS Squats!!!
Just three of them... but I plan to have eight. They are not for casting, just for my collection... after all, it's just my hobby...
I have been playing with a couple of contrast paints and they work really nicely as a glaze over a base coat of a similar colour. I am painting "Black Templar" over a mid grey base-coat and I am no longer avoiding black because it looks much better than I'd normally achieve.
Once the "Crazy Eight" are painted, I'll share pix.

I started these while I was waiting for casts to arrive and I'm sort of 'signed up' to finishing the squad of eight. Anyway, these are Wavy Jim, Commissar Dave and Mad Mick (converted from some of my spare resin casts):
I am going for a group of eight and have another couple on the work-bench, getting converted/sculpted. They are just for fun and use other people's bits and bobs so won't ever be cast up. These are just for me.

Not a fan of chaos? No worries... here's a sniper:
... and also a Khorne flamer:
I have another few bits on the work-bench... but I've not got much to share at the moment.

Ooooooo noice and , BURN THE HERETIC!
Flashheart: Mind if I use your phone? If word gets out that I'm missing, 500 girls will kill themselves. I wouldn't want them on my conscience, not when they ought to be on my face!
Harry the Spider was once a happy Engineseer but alas, he succumbed to the dark side too:
I'm working on a few sculpts at the moment... so there should be some more friendly arrivals soon.

No not a fan. IG all the way. That said great figures. I do like the sniper. The start of some new figures perhaps.

I get that. Chaos isn't normally for me but I felt I'd put some of the old Chaos Dwarf types together... just for a bit of a palate cleanser. I'm only putting together a small squad and it's just for me (rather than the usual project) .
The sniper was requested by Macrocosm to finish off all of the special weapon choices for the Astra Militarum... I wouldn't have bothered, myself... because I use Ratling snipers but seeing as it was requested, I sorted one out.
I have a musician on the cork, at the moment... I guess he could be used as comms or a standard bearer. Hopefully, that one will get picked up as well. I still plan on a squad of five Squats with bolt pistol/axe combination but I am enjoying a bit of ACTUAL hobby time at the moment, rather than hobby/work time so they will arrive when they arrive
.
I have my Chaos Ogryn bodyguard, a chaos standard bearer and then a secret chaos conversion to finish and that will be me back to the Imperial fold in earnest. The secret conversion will take a while so it will be worked on while doing other things. Apart from the Chaos bits, I have a commission sculpt that needs to be worked on but that's a single miniature that, once I get to grips with it, will take a fairly short amount of time to finish.
To be honest... I'm enjoying a bit of painting at the moment and the convert then paint approach has worked very favourably for me.

And Iconic Stan:
There's only one more to come and he is secret... then it'll be back to the more normal stuff again

It's been a while... mostly because I haven't finished anything for a while.
HOWEVER... I have six new sculpts on the go (a DJ and five close combat troops) so I should have a few bits and bobs to show off, quite soon.

A DJ? Interesting. Looking forward to seeing the CC troops.
DJ on the left and five close combat troopers (so far):
"Mag-lock holsters" - electromagnetic plates that are activated/deactivated by a button on the pistol and hold the pistol securely without the need for a sheath. It gets around the conversation about "that holster would never fit a bolt pistol in it". These will be armed with a DJ booth and close combat weapon/bolt pistol combo

Beautiful sculpts, great job! Liking the idea of the mag-lock too.
