Back on the Krieg!


Decided to do a Commissar (though I’ll be using them as a platoon commander for now)


I’ve been dying to add some Commissars to my collection as they just ooze character.


I went with my regimental blue rather than the traditional black and red but I think it works.

The krieg commissars are great figs and I run mine as commanders too since there's not a whole lot you can do with the marshall fig. Nice work on the varying the dark colors!

I’m caught in two minds atm, do I do some more artillery or my Macharius Vanquisher?

I’ll do a Winged Tyrant for my Tyranids force while I decide!

So far I’ve done the Commander and started the turret.

Well I’ve finally made some progress on my Krieg!


This time some heavy metal!


Love this model and for a large Forgeworld kit it was relatively easy to build.


I went with my usual colour scheme and numbering system (this is the 1st tank of 3rd Heavy Tank Company)

I was very happy to find the transfers (I think they’re for Cadians) and the words Gloriam Mortis which loosely translates as Glorius Death so seemed fitting for a Krieg tank!

Looks fantastic as usual, lovely chipping and the colour scheme is fantastic the blue works really well, only little thing is the edge of the transfer still can be seen slightly, have you tried transfer softening products?

Today’s progress is another Commissar.

I think of the two this one is my favourite! He’s just standing there with his power sword on his shoulder waiting for the lads to go over the top! It just oozes menace I think.

Yeah, that's a very nice figure and the painting is fantastic.

Additionally, you can just draw some paint from the surface of the tank, onto the transfer, and that blends the edge.

MicroSol and MicroSet are good for this kind of work. They would at least give you a starting point research wise

Lovely tank and Commissars! The blue on their uniform trim works well, lovely painting efforts. I really like your weathering efforts on the infantry equipment and armoured pieces.

Microsol I have heard works indeed Ragsta, that commisar is an amazing model, it was in fact the first forgeworld model I ever bought! I was very excited and that was quite a long time ago now! Very nice paint job! I think the gold braided jacket works really well with your scheme, the highlights are for me jjust the right balance.

Slow progress this week. That said I have managed to complete a Heavy Mortar!


Now I’ve painted one of each type of Artillery that I own! Bit of a milestone.

I think the base was just right on this field gun, I think the bases for the Heavy Artillery are a little bit small but that’s what I have so that’s what I’ll work with!


Next up will be another squad of Krieg Combat Engineers this time with a Mole Launcher! scheme! I’ll look up Microsol.
