    An Ancient Awakening

    Across the arid desert a warm wind made its way, sometimes blowing pockets of sand and ancient debris with it. And with it also comes the smell of something long dead, of ancient battles and a once great civilization that is now one with the dust and sand of the desert. In many parts of this great barren nothingness, the curse of ever life still plagues the bones of the restless dead, stirring the spirit of Nehekhara into being.

    But something about this wind was peculiar, as if a greater power had somehow sent it to speak to the dead across the desert in a specific way, to awaken the slumbering Kings and Pharaohs to begin to gather the strength of ancient Nehekhara. Into a small crevice the wind finds itself, the smallest crack that would go unnoticed by any passerby, if any living creature could even survive the heat of the desert to find themselves in this desolate place. Deep into the ground the wind blows, until it is in a great antechamber, a lightless place that if illuminated would reveal a room made entirely of gold and studded with jewels and rubies.

    The wind stirred the robes of a figure seated on a throne in the center of the chamber, and ended its great trek with a whisper in the Tomb Kings ear "awaken, awaken and serve again!"

    Waking as if from a long dream, Prince Neb'nesew wondered where all of the servants were, why he was alone in his great temple. Reaching out with his mind he began to summon them to him, for he was of the blood and would not be without a retinue. The first that he felt was of an ancient being, one even more ancient than the himself, and a perfect being to serve the Prince again.

    In a place where nothing moved but the wind and sand, the ground began to move on the surface above the temple. First an arm emerged, grasping the ground and pulling the rest of the ancient bones attached to the arm out of the sand. A skull the size a boulder erupted from the ground, a silent scream coming blasting from the fleshless jaw. Once fully revealed, the skeletal remains of a race more ancient than any remembered in the world stood nearly forty spans tall. Leaning towards the crack that the wind first found, the bleach bone hands began to dig.

    NEB'NESEW, TOMB KING OF KHARDOV

    Manufacturer: Reaper Miniatures Warlord 14236, Neb'nesew Nefsokar Warlord
    Sculptor: Tim Prow

    AT CMON: NEB'NESEW

    Waking as if from a long dream, Prince Neb'nesew wondered where all of the servants were, why he was alone in his great temple. Reaching out with his mind he began to summon them to him, for he was of the blood and would not be without a retinue. The first that he felt was of an ancient being, one even more ancient than the himself, and a perfect being to serve the Prince again. He felt his retinues as well, and another, his wife the queen.

    Sheltered inside of a great pyramid, now lost to the sands, Neb'Nesew was once a great king that ruled over Khardov, situated in the once fertile Valley of Bashar. At its height, the city thrived in agriculture, and was known to be a great place of trade and prosperity because of its location next to the deep Nilesque River. During Neb'Nesew's reign he expanded his control along the entire length of the river, from the capital city of Khardov to the port city of Nebsanew on the Gulf of Medes all paid tribute to use the river. This only happened because, as a ruler, Neb'Nesew was ruthless to his enemies and any who stood against him.

    After years of war to secure the kingdom, Khardov went through a decade of relative peace. Neb'Nesew would have never suspected that his queen would plot against him with his brother, Khafar. And so it was that Neb'Nesew, the great conqueror, would die in his bed of poison, given to look as if he had the plague. Upon his death, the city mourned his passing with sorrow, carrying him to his great pyramid that was built for this day and Khafar quickly ordered that his household, personal guard, and his queen would be entombed with him to serve him in the afterlife.

    Khafar would succeed, as his queen had not provided a son, but his ineptitude in government would see the collapse of the kingdom within the span of four years. But, as Neb'Nesew emerged from his pyramid, now buried in the shifting sands of the great southern desert, he did not see the emptiness that was before him. Instead he saw his once great city, now buried even deeper than his pyramid. In front of him he saw the great river that was the life blood of his kingdom, a river that had succumbed to the desert heat nearly six centuries before. And he saw the treachery of his brother, and he knew he would take his army to defeat the traitors!

    @Codsticker: haha, I know right!
    @Loki Ragnarok: Thank you mate! More to come, slowly but surely these armies will come together.

    MAGOG, BONE GIANT

    At the height of the Nehekharan civilization, a cult took rise that would eventually be known and revered as the Mortuary Cult. The idea of ever life was always something that the Nehekharans sought after, and if they could give life to beings even more ancient then Nehekhara the cult knew they would be able to figure out the secrets of the afterlife. One of the most powerful creations was that of the Bone Giants, who were infused with great power to protect the tombs of the passed on Kings.

    The bones of Magog are even more ancient than recorded history, to a time when Giants roamed the earth freely and without fear. The smaller beings of the world even worshipped them as if gods, paying homage and offering sacrifice to them. Magog and his twelve brethren wandered from crude village to crude village across an extremely large swath of land from the giant fortress built at the top of huge mountain that is now lost in the known world. But soon a new power seemed to emerge into the world, the first signs of chaos came and Daemons swarmed across the land in numbers that even the Giants could not contain. Magog himself was known to be the greatest fighter of all his brethren, and defended the mountain fortress against swarms of lesser daemons who attempted to break down the doors. Finally, a bestial face appeared in front of him, with a body almost as tall as himself and massive leathery wings protruding from its back. Powerful axe struck against copper sword in the monstrous duel, as the greater daemon of Khorne overwhelmed Magog and finally removed his mighty head from his shoulders.

    It was the bones of this great being that the Mortuary Cult animated to protect the tomb of Prince Neb’nesew for an eternity. The bones that now stir the sand and will protect the Prince as he once swore to protect his land, but no memory of that previous life still exists in the animated bones of this giant, only the will to serve.
