Second War of Independence (ACW in 13mm)

Had the civil war bug for a few months since i went to a reenactment and uncle Robert's statue got taken down in Richmond. Warlord's epic acw starter box was too good of a value to pass up. I have no experience with this scale and im a bit worried how the paint will turn out so im starting small and only doing one infantry stand per base.



All of the sprues are the same but boy do you get a lot of them. Each one makes a full brigade with command and one small caliber gun.



Test infantry base. The bases have holes to line up the figures but wood glue took care of that with no filler.



Premature paint test, this is crap.



And a couple of brigades assembled while i wait on painting supplies and try reading the rules.

Thanks for looking, pretty excited about this one so progress might be regular if not super high quality.

Weather has been inclement so im stalled on priming the infantry. The farmhouse included in the starter box is a decent kit and it has interior panels for the windows and doors. Fit is good enough for me, you would probably want to do some sanding and putty work for a professional result. Went together in an hour, scale looks about perfect. Thanks for looking!

i really like the early war uniforms due to variety and aesthetics, but there are a lot to choose from and im still sourcing examples from osprey books while i wait on new paints. so likely my early efforts will be centered around units that were at first manassas, army of the shenandoah. feel free to make specific suggestions with uniform photos, im not an expert on this conflict yet.

Edit- Did some more work on the test base. Next one i will prime with grey and have better paints. Also waiting on an illustrated regiment guide to have more accurate uniforms, although i will obviously need plenty of scraggly vets like these guys.
