LRB = Living Rulebook, the number is the version number. The different versions have the changes from the previous version in red text.
My life of crime... She is over!
do u know which living rulebook occured after the handbook 2002 was published
I think that would be LRB version 3 that came after that, but it's probably pretty much the same thing. LRB is very similar to the in-box rules that came with BB. LRB 4 and subsequentially LRB 5 have changed the game a fair bit, mostly with added League and Tournament systems aswell as more teams. Give LRB 5 a go![]()

I would strongly recommend LRB 5. Personally I think its a great system, and superior to LRB4. LRB 5 got me back into the game, running a league for the first time since 1997.

As far as I recall, the 2002 handbook (and I'm assuming you're meaning the rulebook printed in 2002) was just the original 3rd editon rulebook bound together with the Deathzone rulebook.
If you mean the 2002 Annual, I think that was printed after LRB 1 or 2.
LRBs 1-4 are a progression, and are very similar. LRB 5 is a much different game.
For me, LRB 4 is the best ruleset available, and I'd hate to be involved in a league run under LRB 5.
LRB 5 is fine for one-off or tournament style games though.

thanks guys, i read through lrb5 at work. Pretty much the same game. removed secret weapons put the core and advanced rule see just cleaned up and clarified a bit. Thanks!!
What are the major changes between 4 & 5? I've not played a real game before (I've only played with that Java version that does all the dice automatically, which is nice). I'm looking to start a league at some point at uni next year, and don't know which version to use (we're all noobs).
Kimi - If you're talking about FUMBBL (Which I'm fairly sure you are), then that is still using LRB4. To be honest, if you know what you're doing with LRB4 then the switch to LRB5 won't take more than a game to figure out. The mechanics are essentially the same, with some changes to skills, new skills, team rosters changing and fouling calmed down a bit.
Are you still in Newcastle (Upon Tyne)? I play fairly regularly with a couple of lads in the North East, and can easilly get into GW Newcastle if you fancied a game. We're running a league now as well, LRB5 allows teams to join in late as they have a slightly improved version of handicaps now allowing you more control over what boosts your team gets. Drop me a PM if youfancy a game, and download the LRB5 .PDF off the specialist games website for free if you're interested!
Yes, I've used FUMBBL. Just found it again and can't get it working (damn router, working on getting the settings fixed). I don't know what I'm doing when I play, I just do what I think makes sense and see what happens, I've got no idea of the mechanics (yet).
I'm downloading the rules now to read. And I'm not in Newcastle much longer. I'm off to Swindon the end of next week for a month or so I won't be able to take you up on the offer for a game. Maybe some other time?
Kimi, there's a club in Reading (The Spiky Club) that (iirc) runs a regular Blood Bowl league, along with playing other GW games. Websites at http://www.spikyclub.org/ , but it seems to be down at the moment.
The also hold a BB tournament once a year, the Spiky Open, which is the biggest non-GW BB tournament in the UK, being held 13th/14th October this year.
